Phoebe Emerson - Eye Witness to a Revolution

Today we had the pleasure of having Mrs. Phoebe Emerson from Concord, Massachusetts visit our school to give us a first hand account of events that led up to the Revolutionary War and also the events of the day when the 'Shot Heard 'Round the World' occurred. Mrs. Emerson discussed the taxes that were forced upon the colonists and how the colonists felt about the fact that they were not represented in Parliament. The students were entertained for an hour by Mrs. Emerson as they became better prepared for our upcoming field trip to Concord to visit the Concord Museum and the Old North Bridge.
